Aguas Calientes

Machupicchu Pueblo also known as Aguas Calientes. (Spanish agua water, caliente hot, warm, "hot waters" or "hot springs"). It is the seat of the Machupicchu District. There are hot springs but we did not see them.

You come in and leave by train
Machupicchu pueblo lies on the Willkanuta River.
You cross a bridge.
And you find
It was deserted. So we went inside.
I love the colour on the fringes of the roof echoing the colours on the cliff.
And there are kids
Having fun
The walk to the hotel.
                                                    The view from the hotel.
It is the closest access point to the historical site of Machu Picchu which is 6 kms                                                                                          away.
